![]() Typically oxygen is the best option, as the player can kill the enemy quicker then the oxygen on your ship will run out.Ĭheck out the teaser trailer for The Little Mermaid, the upcoming live-action reimagining of the animated musical classic. A forth option involving scrap can be selected should you have a large stockpile on hand. He asks you, "What system can you survive without" and the list will be weapons, shields or oxygen. This rare encounter will involve an enemy giving you three options before attacking you. If you have an Engi crew member or an ion weapon, there are two additional blue options allowing the player to repair the targeting system remotely or remotely disable them. Normally you have two options upon finding this, either attack the defenses from a distance or leave them alone. This encounter is about a space station and its malfunctioning defenses. A fourth option is available if you have an Assault Drone on board, allowing you to dispose of the spiders without risk. A blue text option will appear allowing you to use your weapon to burn the spiders from a safe distance. There is also a third option, should you have the Fire Beam weapon. It is usually safe to help them, although there is a small chance to lose a crew member. You have 2 main options, help them or leave them. Your ship will come across people being assaulted by spiders. Make sure to get away from this zone as soon as possible before a asteroid cripples your ship, and your beaten to death by large space rocks. The asteroids do 1 damage each, but sometimes hit in quick succesion, causing heavy damage. Asteroids will hit your ship occasionally until the player leaves this spot. Similar to the Solar Flares, these occur in the backround and can pop up on spots where the player must also fight a tough battle. The only to not die from them is to get away as soon as possible. Solar Flares "attack" every minute or so, and cause heavy damage and fires to erupt throughout your ship. The worst part about them, is that they like to appear where you also must fight off hard enemies. Solar Flares are pesky backround annoyances. Always try to do this, as even if they awaken, it is still such an easy fight that the player should have no issues. This one is dormant and the player has the option of stealing data from them, with the hopes of not waking them up. There is a second type of automated vessel that the player may come across. Overall, they are quite simple, and the player can kill them and get their scrap and be on their way. They have no crew obviously, and are fairly small ships so setting them on fire is a great tactic. In later sectors the Rebels are pretty tough, so care should be taken anytime you come across one of their ships.Īutomated vessels are fairly weak, simple fights. This isn't good for the player, so make sure to target all weapons at their engines should this pop up. Often times as they get near death, their ship will charge up its FTL drive and attempt to escape. They will attack, and you will defend yourself. Rebel encounters are pretty straightforward. However the best option is to board them and kill the crew as not only will you get a new crew member you also get all of the scrap and fuel you would have gained for destroying the ship. Obliterating their ship is also an option, should your ship already be full of people, although this obviously means you're killing innocent slaves as well. This is a great way to bolster your crew while deaing out some space justice. Accept it, and you will always get a new crew member. Once they are near death, their captain will try to bargain with you. They will typically try to sell you a slave, but your best option is attack. Ship suits my playstyle so for me it's totally OP.Slavers are terrible, mean people, but are great for the player. Systems are well placed (small disadvantage of 1 spot in cloning bay) - no need to ugprade doors early (with starting eq the only thing you need is 2nd shield as usual leting you hoard scrap for early shopping). You have also big freedom when it comes to systems, not to mention decent starting crew. You start with 25 drone parts which is huge ammount (you don't really need hacking early on, if you switch drones/get drone recovery arm early you can easily sell drone parts for good ammount of scrap). Starting augment is too OP for lategame and gives you big freedom when deciding how to build your ship for last fight (rockets/offensive/boarding drones/ ion). Weak weapon system and just dual lasers to start with may seem like big disadvantage but it really isn't. Well engi ships are my fav and I'm doing good with em so my opinion may be biased.īut the ship feels superior compared to most ships (and both other engi variants).
